Lee County -- The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team recommends no criminal charges against an Albany Dougherty Drug Unit officer who initiated a deadly police chase.

The investigators have concluded that Corporal Gary Price did nothing criminal in chasing drug suspect Bobby Jones at speeds that reached nearly 100 miles per hour along Old Leesburg Road June 27th.

Jones crashed head on into 21-year-old Billy Klewitz, killing both men.

The report will be turned over to District Attorney Cecelia Cooper next week.

She will review it and ultimately decide whether to pursue charges.

Attorney's for the Klewitz family put the city and county on notice last month that they plan to file a civil lawsuit.
