Albany -- An Albany man is charged with beating a man on West Highland Avenue Tuesday night, then hours later kidnapping and raping a woman on that same street.
28-year old Lazarus Taylor was arrested at Phoebe Putney Hospital's emergency room just after midnight where he spotted by the beating victim who was there receiving treatment.
About 6:30 PM 34-year old Nicholas Williams was beaten unconscious.
Investigators say about 7:30 a 19-year old woman reported Taylor grabbed her by the neck, dragged her into a room at the Royal Inn, and raped her twice.
Taylor is in the Dougherty County Jail charged with kidnapping, rape, and aggravated assault.
