Rochelle - The college football recruiting season is nearing a close with national signing day in two weeks.

Wilcox County receiver-defensive back Alfonzo Dennard is planning to sign with the University of North Carolina.

Wilcox County coach Mark Ledford says Alfonzo Dennard commited to play for Butch Davis and the Tar Heels after a visit to Chapel Hill over the weekend.

The Tar Heels were recruiting Alfonzo Denanrd to play cornerback but the offensive coaching staff wants him to play receiver after watching him on video.
