Thomasville -- The city council just approved construction of a $1.5 million hangar at the site.   The airport already houses 62 airplanes in hangars.

The new facility will allow them to attract more aircraft and boost fuel sales.

"It will give us an opportunity to home base 12 to 14 corporate size airplanes and a large hangar bay for transient business and corporate type jets," says Airport Manager Mike Woodham.

The federal government and a OneGeorgia grant will help the city of Thomasville pay for the project that could be finished this summer.
