Albany Mayor throws support behind Obama

January 21, 2008

Albany--  Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama is getting some support from a political leader here in Albany.

As we first reported to you last week, the Obama camp is setting up a campaign office on North Slappey Boulevard. It's the first campaign to open a south Georgia headquarters in this presidential race.

Now Obama is getting some hometown support from Mayor Willie Adams. Adams says he feels Obama is the best person for the job.

"I think he's qualified, bonafied, and he's certified. And I think he's a good person. He brings a new message and at this point I'm supporting him," said Adams.

The Albany Obama campaign office will officially open Tuesday evening at 6 with an open house.
