Albany - Hundreds of people line up in the cold to get a helping hand. Georgia Power partnered with the Food Bank of Southwest Georgia to feed about 250 families. Around 6:30 Monday morning, people began lining up outside SunTrust Bank on West Broad Avenue in Albany to secure their spot for the food giveaway.

Chad Etheridge said, "It just shows you how large the need is in the area, because the food bank of Southwest Georgia serves 20 of the poorest counties in Georgia."

5,000 pounds of food was handed out. The food should last each person a week.
