Albany -- South Georgia's blood supply is at a critically low level, and the American Red Cross needs your help.

This week's wintry weather in Georgia cut blood collections that were already down.

Our region needs 1,200 hundred blood donations each weekday to supply more than 130 area hospitals.

Right now, there is less than a day's supply.

O and B blood types are in especially high demand.

You can donate at the blood donor center on Dawson Road.

To find out about special blood drives or the donor center closest to you, you can call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE.

Albany Blood Drives:

February 11th - 10AM-3PM Adminstration Parking Lot on Jefferson St.

February 13th - 10AM-6PM Healthworks
