Albany -- An Albany man remains in critical condition in an Albany hospital, after he was found with a serious head injury in front of an East Albany library.

At first Police thought 52-year old John Lewis Barbre might have been hit by a car. He was found kneeling, barely conscious, in front of the Tallulah Massey Library on Stratford Drive by two students walking to school.

Police say Barbre had a 5 to 7 inch laceration on the back of his head, and abrasions to both feet, knee, elbow, and chin. But Police now suspect Barbre may have been thrown from a car, after he was assaulted.

Investigators are asking for the public's help. If you have any information, call CRIME STOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
