Albany -- Traffic along North Slappey Boulevard was brought to a stand still Wednesday afternoon while fire fighters battled a hay fire.
This is what the scene looked like around 12:45 Wednesday afternoon. Thick smoke poured into the air as 40 bales of hay burned on a trailer. The fire caused traffic to be stopped in both directions for about 15 minutes until the fire could be controlled.
No one was injured, but fire fighters stayed on the scene for over 3 hours until it was fully contained.
A shorted wire on the trailer is believed to have sparked the flames.
