Ocilla -- An update  in the murder of an Ocilla man. His own son is now charged with killing him.

38-year-old Chris Lott is charged with beating his father to death.

Family members discovered the body of 64-year-old James Lott on September 2, 2007 inside his Ocilla home. Investigators say he was beaten death in his own bed.

Chris Lott is in the Irwin County Detention Center charged with felony murder.

Investigators did not say if there was a motive behind the killing.
