Valdosta - The City of Valdosta was one of the main bidders in last weeks historic land action.

Over 2200 acres, that's over 10% of the city was auctioned off in Valdosta Friday.

The city was one of 35 winning bidders.

They aren't yet saying how much land they purchased or what they plan to do with the property but hope to unveil their plan later this week.

Professional auctioneers says the Bray family has accepted bids on five of the six zones of land, bringing in 10 million dollars.

The sixth zone was not sold for the amount the family was hoping for so they are now negotiating with several bidders an hope to make the final deal soon.
