Lee County -- New information tonight in a story we've been following out of Lee County near the city of Smithville. We have learned that an 82-year-old man found dead inside his Pettis Road home was stabbed to death.
A. J. Mosely was discovered dead this morning after family members were unable to get in touch with him. GBI crime scene units worked throughout the day gathering evidence inside and outside of the home, hoping to get to some clues to assist them in finding who was behind the murder of this elderly man.
"We're still in the process of interviewing numerous witnesses people that lived around here and other places, family members, to determine Mr. Mosely's whereabouts the last several days to aid us in what might have happened,"GBI Special Agent in Charge Danny Jackson.
Mosely's body was taken to the crime lab in Atlanta for an autopsy. No word yet on if there any suspects in the case.
