Albany - Albany State guard Scheraun King has been named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's men's basektball player of the week.
The junior from Staten Island, New York averaged 17.5 points in wins over Lane College and Kentucky State last week.
King also had 17 points in Albany State's 58-50 victory over Fort Valley State in Sunday's Peach Ball Homecoming Classic.
The win runs Albany State's record to 5-1 in the SIAC.
Albany State will start a tough stretch of four road games in eight days Thursday at Benedict College.
