South Albany Teen Shooting

January 11, 2008

Albany -- Two teenagers were shot, one seriously wounded, in an attack on a south Albany street tonight.

Police say a 15-year old boy opened fire during an argument on Barton Avenue around 6:30 p.m.

16-year old Antwon Luke was shot several times.

Tonight, he's in critical condition in the surgical intensive care unit at Phoebe Putney Hospital.

18-year old Gina Nixon was treated and released.

Witnesses told police about ten teenagers were arguing, when one of them opened fire.

They're still trying to figure out if it's gang-related.

Investigators arrested the suspected shooter.

They don't think anyone else fired shots, but they do want to question some other people who were at the scene.

If you have any information on the shooting, call Crime Stoppers at 436-TIPS.
