Albany - - Some of the best and brightest students in Dougherty County proved that they are just that this afternoon at the annual Academic Decathlon.
Students from each county high school represented their schools as they took individual and team quizzes.
They competed in written exams and a Super Quiz brain bowl on Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War.
"I learned US History this year so that helped me with the Super Quiz especially, but we studied and we got ready for it," says 11th grader Shima Cochran.
It was a close call between Albany High and Dougherty High.
In the end, Albany came out on top. Organizers say it was one of the best competitions they've ever had.
