Valdosta - A four month search for two New Jersey convicts ends in Valdosta.
52 year-old Robert Jenkins and his 27 year-old son Tywonn Harris are wanted in Lakewood, New Jersey on a laundry list of charges.
For Harris those include aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, sexual assault, and tampering with witnesses.
Lakewood police also want to question him about his involvement with a suspicious death.
The Southwest Georgia Gang Task Force and Valdosta police say they received a tip they were staying in the city with friends or family and took action without asking questions.
"More often than not we do not inquire what they did unless its something we really need to know. Just the fact that a warrant was out for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, we felt that we knew enough about these subjects and needed to use great care in apprehending them," says Bernard Robinson of the Valdosta Police.
The Southwest Georgia Drug Task Force made the arrest with the assistance of Valdosta Police Monday night without incident.
Both will be extradited back to New Jersey next week.
Jenkins will be charged with probation violations.
