Albany-  Last week when the South Coast League contacted Albany leaders and told them they planned to pay their overdue utility bill, city leaders were hopeful, Wednesday those hopes were dashed when only part of the money arrived.

The Peanut's baseball team racked up a $38,000 utility bill at Paul Eames Stadium over the last 11 months. They had promised to pay the bill in full last week, but when the money arrived Wednesday it was nearly $3,000 short.

City Attorney Nathan Davis will contact the league again and ask them to pay up. The city had threatened legal action if the entire bill wasn't paid.
