Valdosta - An off duty Valdosta police officer helped catch a suspected burglar.
37 year-old Robert Moring was caught leaving a house on West Cranford Street that had been broken into.
Officer James Lide was off duty when he spotted Moring a few blocks away and helped chase him.
Moring is charged with burglary and obstruction of an officer.
A jury convicted a Crisp County man on two counts of child molestation Friday. The jury came back with a guilty verdict for Hermenegildo Virgil Friday.
