Albany -- After struggling through a four-game losing streak in early December, the Darton College basketball team is beginning to hit its stride, with the Lady Cavaliers winning three of their past four games.
Darton picked up two big wins over the weekend, beating both Faulkner and Florida Community College.
The victories following a long lay-off for the Lady Cavs, with their last game coming December 18th.
Darton head coach Laura Blackwell says they spent plenty of time on the practice court over the holiday break.
"We just kind of put it together as a team," says Blackwell. "We had a different defensive game plan, some strategy we've been practicing, and it worked. We hung in there, and are playing well as a team."
Darton begins conference play at the end of the week, and coach Blackwell says her team is coming together at just the right time.
"It's what a coach wants," says Blackwell. "You want everyone clicking at the same time, just playing their best basketball, even though there is always room for improvement."
Darton hosts CVCC Wednesday at Cavalier Arena, and begins conference play Saturday at home against Georgia Perimeter.
