Americus- It could be mid January before Sumter Regional Hospital gets official word that they've won an expensive piece of hospital equipment.
Sumter Regional ended the online competition to win a MRI system with a bang New Year's Eve, finishing the contest with 260,335 votes.
That was nearly 101,000 votes more than the second place finisher Grant Regional.
The hospital entered Siemens online contest with a video about the destruction the hospital faced following the March first tornado.
