Valdosta - You can now save money while you save water, with the City of Valdosta's winter averaging program.
They say if costumers agree to cut off outside water use during January, February and March, they'll save money on their utility bills for the rest of the year.
"The average of those months use as the cut off point of billing sewer services for the rest of the year. That way the customers can get enough water to do their normal watering activities and not have to pay sewage on it," says Leon Weeks, Utilities Director.
They say the program will help conserve water as the drought continues.
Instructions on how to take part in the program will be included with utility bills.
