Albany - The month of January starts next week and it is hard to believe the Albany State women's basketball team still has not played a home game.

That will change Friday when the 1-5 Lady Rams host the annual Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference-Southern States Conference challenge.

Albany State and Fort Valley State represent the SIAC against SSC powers Florida Tech and Rollins.

Florida Tech is nationally ranked in the Division II polls and Rollins is receiving votes.

It will be a tough challenge for the Lady Rams but they are just glad is their year to host this event.

Robert Skinner said "It has been a rough november and december for us but we definitely look forward to coming home and making a good showing. We really feel like we have a good team."

The SIAC-SSC challenge starts Friday with Fort Valley State playing Rollins at 4:00 p.m.

Albany State and Florida Tech will follow at 6:00 p.m..

On Saturday, Fort Valley State faces Florida Tech at 4:00 p.m and Albany State and Rollins will play at 6:00 p.m..
