Thomas County - A Thomas County deputy is paralyzed after an accident on Christmas Eve.

Administrators at the Thomas County Sheriff's Office say Deputy Chad Griffin was driving west on Highway 122, transporting a prisoner to the Thomas County Jail.

They say he hit a horse that wandered into the roadway.

The horse went through the windshield injuring Griffins spinal cord.

Griffin will be transferred to the Shepard Center in Atlanta tomorrow.

The horse was killed.
