Albany - - If you tried to find a business open today, outside of convenience stores and some restaurants, you probably didn't have much luck. But one business kept its doors open because its one of the busiest days of the year for them.

Albany's Carmike Wynnsong Theatre saw a steady flow of traffic all day long Christmas. The big crowds gathered around 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock as anxious moviegoers raced to get a ticket.

Employees say traffic this Christmas is actually up from last year. They were expecting the crowds and movie fans didn't disappoint them.

"Since we've been open we've had quite a crowd today. Its been amazing. We had 4 or 500 hundred people during the 3 o'clock rush and were expecting a lot more than that...This year its been above average especially despite the rain," says Assistant Manager Patricia Greenway.

Employees say many people came to see some of the popular recently released movies on the big screen.

Many video stores also stayed open for movie fans.
