Albany - - With Christmas ending soon, have you thought about what you're going to do with your pretty Christmas tree?
It's a question a lot of people don't want to deal with until they absolutely have to.
We found one Leesburg family whose considering doing something different. They say the tree is just a symbol of the real meaning of Christmas. So they want to do something with their tree that will keep that same spirit going in their home even after Christmas.
"Taking the tree out, cutting off all the branches, and cutting it in half, and making a cross out of it, then you leave the cross three up until Easter and it's a beautiful reminder of how Jesus came as a baby, lived his life and died at Easter," Ann Tomlinson.
Also, if you have a live Christmas tree, you may want to consider recycling it.
On Saturday, January 6th, you can participate in Bring One for the Chipper by dropping off your tree at the Lee County landfill on Highway 32 East.
