Students get Christmas presents from school staff

December 20, 2007

Albany -- Students at a Dougherty County Elementary School celebrate Christmas a little early, thanks to their teachers and school staff. Thursday students at Turner Elementary School got the chance to pick out one toy from under the gift tree at their school.

The Toys were donated by the staff at the school, to make sure that all their students received gifts this Christmas. They started the tradition because they were afraid some of their children in need might not get presents.

Turner Elementary Parent Liason Cindy Jordan said "we have been doing this for the last ten years. We staff members buy three toys and bring them in and put them under the tree for the children to come and get their Christmas to take home."

The staff at Turner Elementary make sure that every student gets a present before they start their holiday break.
