Adel - The family of a man who was shot and killed by a south Georgia park ranger is appealing a federal judge's decision to dismiss their lawsuit.
20 year-old Curtis Wright's relatives sued Reed Bingham Park Manager Chet Powell, accusing him of wrongful death and excessive use of force.
Judge Hugh Lawson ruled there was no evidence to support their claim.
Powell tried to arrest Wright in December 2005 for breaking into a vending machine.
Wright tried to stab him with a screwdriver and reached for Powell's gun.
Powell shot him in the chest.
The family says they want the courts to review the case again.
