Albany -- A month into the season, the Albany State basketball team finally played its home opener Tuesday night, and knocked off Valdosta State 63-61.

Tyrone Evans led the Rams with 16 points, while Devario Hudson had 15 points and 17 rebounds for the Blazers.

ASU returns to action Thursday at Claflin.
