Albany -- The Christmas season officially arrived at the Marine Corps Logistics Base Friday night.

Families gathered for an annual tree lighting ceremony. A band played holiday favorites to get them in the spirit.

Children ate hot dogs off the grill and some of them even got up and danced to the entertainment.

"This base is a very close community. Of course we live together, we work together , we play, eat, and sleep here. And this is another opportunity for the base to not only share its Christmas spirit with each other, but to also invite friends, family and experience the warmth that Christmas holds for us," said Public Affairs Officer, Lt. Caleb Eames.

Santa made his grand entrance on a bright red fire truck. He was bombarded with children trying to get some early Christmas cheer.
