Tifton -- A car taken during a violent carjacking in Florida is found here in South Georgia.
This morning, a 1999 Nissan Altima was found behind a convenience store on Highway 82 in Tift County. Investigators say it's the car that was taken last night near Tampa during a carjacking.
Florida investigators say 27-year-old Antonio Middleton and his girlfriend picked up a man Middleton knew. The man forced the girlfriend out of the car, then shot Middleton, dumped him out, and drove off in the Nissan. Middleton is in critical condition.
The car was found this morning in Tift County, but the suspect is still on the loose.
