Rochelle - Friday night's Class A state championship game between Wilcox County and Emanuel County Institute will be played in Cordele.
The decision to move the game was made by Wilcox County Wednesday morning.
Wilcox County coach Mark Ledford says limited seating capacity at their stadium meant many local fans would not get to see the game if it were played in Rochelle.
Ledford says fans from surrounding counties had purchased most of Wilcox County's ticket allotment from the GHSA and that many family members of the players had yet to buy tickets.
Ledford says Crisp County officials have been very gracious in helping Wilcox County.
This is the first appearance for the Patriots in a state football championship game.
The Class A state championship game between Wilcox County and Emanuel County Institute will be played Friday night at 8:00 p.m. at Crisp County High School's stadium.
