Lowndes County - A frightening bus ride for 30-Lowndes County students Monday afternoon.

They bus overturned.

The bus flipped onto its side into a ditch on Terrancewood Road off Statenville Highway around 4:00 PM.

Eight of the 30 students were transported to South Georgia Medical Center with minor injuries.

Some people who live nearby say they've seen safety problems with this bus before.

"In the morning, the bus comes down here to fast. Way too fast. Its like 25 on the speed limit and I know that bus goes at least 40, maybe 50! And it's dangerous because its dirt," says Robert Hamilton.

The Lowndes County School System is looking into the accident and the driver.
