Albany -- A homeless center that has provided shelter for women and children in need in the Albany area commemorate a decade of service.

The Community Faith Outreach Center has now been open for ten years. And community and center leaders came together Friday night for the celebration.

The center has taken in hundreds of homeless children and women over the ten year span.

"We are here to help the homeless women and children. And I think that we have made a difference in their lives. Eighty percent of the people that enter the shelter never come back again. And I thank God for the victory at the Faith Community Outreach Center," said Faith Community Outreach Center, Janice Thompson.

A dinner was held in honor of the ten year anniversary.

Several people involved with the center also got up and shared how their involvement with the cause has empowered them.
