Albany- Albany Police take a closer look at the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado that sped through the North Slappey Burger King drive-thru Thursday killing 30 year old Roseanne Eubanks.
Julie Rebecca Todd, Eubanks twin sister and Eubanks four year old daughter Emily were also injured, but Friday both were in good condition and were released from Phoebe Putney Memorial hospital. Roseanne Eubanks was a social worker at Dawson Manor.
Friday residents and staff remembered the woman they describe as thoughtful and caring. Albany Police investigators are taking a close look at 78 year old Raymond Williams 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup.
Williams told police the accelerator stuck. That's what he says caused him to plow through Burger King's drive thru striking Roseanne Eubanks, her twin sister Rebecca Todd and Eubanks four year old daughter Emily. Eubanks died at the scene. For the last six years Eubanks worked as a social worker at Dawson Manor. Her death was a shock to patients
"Roseanne came across as a very caring person, not only in her work but also in her family life," said Barbara Bates, a Dawson Manor resident.
Many family members talked about the struggles Roseanne helped them through.
"Through every crisis I would go in Roseanne's office and she would hold my hand and we would cry a little bit and talk and pray together and she always made me feel better," said BethAnn Culpepper.
Friends say Roseanne Eubanks had a caring touch for both patients and her co-workers.
"My mother fell in love with her the first day. We brought mother up early on Monday morning Roseanne was here, but was supposed to be at the doctor. She canceled her doctor's appointment just to be here to welcome mother and make her feel like she was party of the family," said Judy Simpson.
Now they hope they can return the favor with prayers for Eubanks family.
The District Attorney's office continues to confer with Albany Police about the possibility of charges against Raymond Williams as they try to determine whether it was health issues or problems with the truck that caused the accident.
Friday Eubanks twin sister Rebecca Todd was released from the hospital. Four year old Emily was released Thursday night and is recovering from a collar bone injury.
