Albany-  An Albany Water, Gas, and Light employee has died after being struck on the head Thursday at a work site.

Eighteen year old Edward "Clay" Adams was part of a five man crew working at the corner of Maple and Owens when a hook on a rope above him broke.

The hook fell, striking Adams on the head. Adams was wearing a hard hat but suffered head injuries.

He was rushed into surgery at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Thursday but died Friday afternoon.
