Cherokee County - A Valdosta man is arrested for luring a 13-year-old girl to a hotel for sex.

31-year-old Corey Hubbard is charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Hubbard was arrested in Cherokee County, just north of Atlanta.

Investigators say he drove up there last Friday after meeting the girl on a myspace chat room.

Both said they were 16 and agreed to meet for sex.

When the two arrived at a hotel, the girl got scared and called police.

Investigators say situations like these happen far to often, and parents need to watch what their kids are doing online.

"We really wanted to get the message out to parents that they cannot be too nosey when it comes to what their kids are doing online. They've got to know their passwords, know where they are going, communicate with their kids or their kids could become victims as well," says Sgt. Jay Baker of the Cherokee County Sheriffs Office.

Hubbard remains in the Cherokee County Jail with bond set at $6,600.00.
