Thomasville-- Police say a Thomasville High school student borrowed the suspect's jacket, discovered a gun in the pocket, and reported it to the school resource officer. Police pulled the student out of class and confiscated the small caliber handgun.

Detective Scott Newberry with the Thomasville Police Department, says, "From my investigation so far, there's been no threats at the school and no school violence was indicated. He had the gun and he said he forgot and left it in his jacket pocket."

The teen is charged with carrying a weapon onto school property which is a felony.
