Albany -- Albany State University is ready to welcome a nationally known keynote speaker for its winter graduation ceremony.

Stedman Graham will address more than three hundred graduates on Saturday morning.

He may be best known as Oprah Winfrey's boyfriend, but Graham is also the author of ten books, including two New York Times bestsellers.

He is a former professor, and he founded a program that develops youth leadership skills.

Albany State University Communication's Director Sophia Glover says that Graham's ideals are one in the same with the universities.

"Albany State University's mission has been for over one hundred and four years, to not only educate the under served, but to build empowered leaders.  Therefore, the connection between Albany State University and Stedman Graham was automatic," Glover said.

ASU's graduation ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the civic center.
