Valdosta - It's the newest addition to the Valdosta skyline, but city officials hope you'll never notice.

Wednesday they began construction of a 150-foot cell phone tower that will provide service to the whole community.

But this tower is camouflaged as a pine tree.

The trunk was put in place Wednesday.  Workers will begin work on the branches Thursday.

The tower is located at the back of Sunset Hill Cemetery on North Oak Street.

The tower's owner, Southland Contractors, will pay for its maintenance and cover many of the cemetery's maintenance fees.
