Blazers not afraid of a little cold weather

December 4, 2007

Valdosta - Valdosta State has played in 15 NCAA postseason games since 2000.

All but one of those games was in an opponent's stadium.

The Blazers are on the road for Saturday's NCAA DII semifinal game at California University in Pennsylvania which is just south of Pittsburgh.

The weather in western Pennsylvania this time of year is considerably colder than here in south georgia.

And if snows, then the VSU offense could face a big obstacle.

The Blazers say they aren't worried about mother nature just the Vulcans of Cal Pennsylvania.

Senior linebacker Michael  Cullen said "We are used to it already because it is pretty cold down here. What I think is that it is maybe going to be a little warmer up there for us. We are not too worried about the weather right now."

David Dean said "We have never played in the snow. So, that would be a little bit different if it happened to snow. The early weather report there is kind of mid-40's. So, I don't think we are going to face that."

Game time is at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
