Albany - Having trouble finding inspiration to get off the couch and exercise?  Take a look at this: A South Georgia man is now the first double amputee to ever complete an Ironman Triathlon.

Camilla native Scott Rigsby competed in an Ironman competition October 13th in Hawaii. He completed the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile marathon in 16 hours, 42 minutes and 46 seconds, just 17 minutes before the time limit cutoff.

39 year old Rigsby was injured in a car wreck in high school, losing one leg immediately and later having his other leg amputated. Rigsby became the first below the knee double amputee to complete a full Marathon in March of this year in Atlanta, and can now consider himself an Ironman as well. Rigsby also holds the distinction of being the first double amputee to complete a Half-Ironman in 2006.
