AKRON, Ohio- Goodyear offered exchanges for certain tires sold for use with minivans and small trucks, but the company insists the decision is not a recall.
Goodyear believes that some of these tires under adverse conditions can have tread separation.
It offered to exchange P215/70R14 tires sold under 23 private label names, including Douglas, Kelly, Mohave and Republic, in the United States and Canada.
Goodyear estimates that approximately 400,000 of the replacement tires made from 2003 to 2006 might be in use.
Goodyear is offering its Regatta 2 all-season radial in exchange.
