Albany - - A broadcast news veteran turned author returned to his South Georgia roots Friday to promote his latest book.
Jay Barbree, who got his start here at WALB, signed copies of his new book. It's called "Live from Cape Canaveral".
Folks lined up at Books at Million to get an autographed copy.
"I'm the only reporter that's covered every mission by an American astronaut. Since its release on September 3rd, its been number one in its category on about every list you can find," Barbree says.
He is the only reporter to cover all 150 American manned space missions. He's written eight books. This one is scheduled to be turned into a movie.
