Albany - - You can help a struggling senior center keep its doors open.

The James Gray Senior Center, also known as The Golden Retreat, gets some public money, but not enough to operate all year.

There will be a series of fundraising events Saturday. A Save the Seniors one mile walk starts at 8 AM at Veteran's Park downtown. There's a $25 entry fee.

For $50, you can compete in a Barbecue Cook Off at the Senior Center or you can buy a barbecue plate for $8.

The day will wrap up with a free Seniors Christmas Dance at 7 PM.
