Albany--Two people are dead after a fatal shooting late last night at an east Albany motel. The shooting happened at the Motel 6 on East Oglethorpe Boulevard shortly after 11 PM on Thursday.

From the flashing blue lights to crime scene tape, it was a scary scene for some residents living near the Motel 6.

"I heard six like back to back to back to back. I don't know what happened. I seen people ducking," says one man near the scene.  He was too afraid to reveal his identity on camera, but he lives near the motel. He says Albany Police arrived on the scene within minutes of the gunfire.

"The shots happened and the police were coming around the corner," he says.

"When they arrived on the scene, a 17-year-old and a while male were both  deceased," says  Phyllis Whitley-Banks with the Albany Police Department.

According to Albany Police, the two men were found near room number 108.

"The white male was found inside the room. And the black male was on the outside perimeter of the room," says Whitley-Banks.

According to police, the black teen, Jimmy Teemer of Albany, was found dead with three gun shot wounds. A white man from Carollton, Georgia and 27-years-of age, was shot twice, but by "who" remains the question.

"At this point, the officers are still trying to determine what happened," she says.

Officers, however, are currently searching for two people of interest.

"One is a black male around seventeen or eighteen years old wearing a tan jacket and a baseball cap, around 5'8'', 5'9'' in height between 150 and 160 pounds. They're also searching for another black male who was wearing a Wendy's uniform, and he's extremely thin," she says.

Right now, folks living near the motel, are worrying this morning about their own safety--especially with a possible killer on the loose.

"I can't sit outside on the front porch or the back porch without seeing somebody get shot," says the man living near the scene of the crime.

If you have any information about the death of these two men, you're urged to call Albany Police at 431-2100.

The bodies of the two men have been sent to the crime lab in Atlanta for further investigation.
