Columbus- A Shellman man, wanted for rape, is caught after a police chase and crash in Columbus.
Forty three year old Charles Powers escaped from Randolph County Sheriff's deputies Thanksgiving night.
He was in custody for questioning in the rape of a 63 year old Shellman woman early Thanksgiving Day. Wednesday night, Columbus Police spotted a stolen Ford F-150 he was driving on Veterans Parkway.
Powers refused to stop and led police on a nearly 10 mile chase before he crashed into a home. He ran into a vacant house nearby where police arrested him. Powers also now faces rape charges in Randolph County.
