Chehaw touts bigger and better holiday light show

November 28, 2007

Albany--  Workers are putting the final touches on a bigger and better holiday light display at the Parks at Chehaw.

Two giant soldiers will greet you at the gate before you enjoy an extravagant one and a half mile show with more than one million lights. Chehaw hired Midwest Displays, who's worked for Six Flags and Paramount Studios to design the show.

You can drive through a lighted tunnel with a Twelve Days of Christmas theme while also counting the rudolphs.

"We thought it was time to break out and do something spectacular here at the park, something for the community. I think people are just hungry to get out at Christmas time and see something new and exciting, something for the whole family," said Chehaw Executive Director Doug Porter.

Porter expects people to come from all over to enjoy the lights and says soon Chehaw may be known for their Festival of Lights with bigger and better displays each year.

You'll also be able to enjoy the Christmas Train through the park. Chehaw's Festival of Lights kicks off Friday night and runs through January 2nd. It will be open until 9 on weeknights and ten on weekends.

Pictures can be taken with Santa starting December 12th.  On the 15th, children can have breakfast with Santa.  Reservations are required.
