Tift County -- Some state and local leaders put political debates aside today and joined together in Tift County for a quail hunt.

Lawmakers participated in the first annual event at the Cypress Creek Plantation hosted by the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce.

"This is the first annual Tifton-Tift County Quail Hunt. Traditionally, we've had this event in Atlanta. But this is going to be a tradition for us. And we're excited to have our legislators here," said Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce  Chairman Cal McMillan.

Good weather held up for the first annual quail hunting event.

The hunt is designed to showcase to legislators all that Tifton and Tift County has to offer.
