Albany - Some Monroe High School football players prove there's more to them than what you see on the field. Senior football players were honored today for passing the Georgia graduation assessment test on the first try.

Last year, as juniors, the young men studied together before practice everyday, and when test time came, it showed that their hard work was worth it. "People don't expect the football players to pass on the first try and we did it," said Russell Roberts. Reggie Hines said, "They look at the football team like we don't do any work, but this shows everybody else in Albany that we can do the work."

The seniors did a good job on the field this season as well. They made it to the second round of playoffs.
