Albany--  It's a Thanksgiving tradition for many of you. After the big meal, you head to the movie theater.

The Wynnsong 16 in Albany was extremely busy all day Thursday. The lobby was full Thursday night with people buying tickets and snacks. Last year, nearly 5,000 people made the movies part of their Thanksgiving weekend here.

"After everybody gets done eating, they're always searching for something else to do and the movie theater is here to provide that entertainment for them," said Complex Manager Shaun Brunson.

Carmike Cinemas prepares for the holiday rush well in advance by stocking up on food items and scheduling extra workers. They expect even bigger numbers next month with at least 3,000 people on Christmas Day alone.
